This
visit will showcase Rockwool's environmental best practice and
will also offer visitors a chance to participate in a workshop
led by the Carbon Trust in Wales working in partnership with
IWI. The company sets targets for continuous improvement, and high levels of investment have been made over recent years in manufacturing efficiency. Reduced water consumption through the use of rainwater, decreasing energy consumption through improved efficiencies and overall improvements through design of raw material input and the use of recycled materials such as slags from the steel industry, demonstrate our commitment to the environment. The Carbon Trust helps business
and the public sector cut carbon emissions, and supports the
development of low carbon technologies. The visit will concentrate
on the practical issues that companies can tackle to reduce
the level of carbon emissions at work and save money in the
process. The participative workshop is focussed to benefit organisations
in the following ways: If your organisation is undertaking the ISO 14001, Green Dragon or if you want to make savings on operational costs this workshop will be of interest to you. |
